What process is used to verify credentials?
Job seekers who claim to have a particular credential may be invited by SEEK to verify this claim. To do so, they provide relevant evidence (such as government-issued documentation) to SEEK Pass, which we reconcile with the relevant authority's records or check via other verification methods.
Based on the documents we accept and the verification methods we use, SEEK Pass forms a view as to whether the job seeker is highly likely to have the credentials they claim.
Are there any limitations to be aware of?
SEEK Pass has chosen to use certain documents, verification methods and confidence levels that we believe are appropriate to provide a useful selection signal on SEEK. However, these methods are not perfect and our choices may differ from your specific requirements or government guidelines.
Employers remain responsible for conducting their own checks and ensuring that the person they employ or contract has appropriate New Zealand working rights and meets any other applicable legal and compliance obligations for the role.
The verified credentials available on SEEK are intended to reduce the risk of encountering issues with shortlisted candidates and allow employers to move ahead faster and with greater confidence.
SEEK Pass should not be relied upon as a compliance or background check solution. Employers should always conduct their own checks before hiring someone.
